Do you feel lethargic in the morning? Too tired to leave the bed? Too cranky to go to the office? Although it happens to everyone and it’s natural, it isn’t healthy if such a pattern continues. Hence, it should be addressed.
While you may not realize it, certain things contribute to your low energy levels, leaving you incapable of working actively. In this article today, I’m going to address this issue by sharing with you some effective tips and tricks to kick start your morning and have a productive day at work. Have a look:
A Morning Walk
First and foremost, you must start your day with a morning walk. Getting up and going straight to the office won’t help you as your lethargy will remain there. To boost some endorphins and increase your energy levels, a morning walk is mandatory.
If you have a park nearby, I suggest you go there for 20-30 minutes and walk or jog a little. If not, you can simply walk around your house. The idea is to get out of your comfort zone and feel nature while stretching your limbs.
A Cup of Herbal Tea
Most people start their day with a cup of bedtime tea or coffee. While you may think a warm cup of coffee or tea is everything you need to wake up and relax, it isn’t actually healthy. In fact, anything with caffeine can lower your energy levels even more while increasing your stress levels.
Therefore, experts recommend cutting out caffeinated beverages altogether from your routine. In case you cannot do that, at least switch your early morning coffee with a cup of herbal tea. Get some sec edibles and add a piece into your morning tea to jumpstart your brain and get going.
Meditation
Another effective thing that you can add to your day-to-day morning routine is meditation. It is a massive number of health benefits and an energy boost happens to be one of them. It alters your thought process and relaxes your mind and body at the same time.
When you’re relaxed and ready to hit the day, your workplace performance enhances on its own. It is mainly why I always recommend meditating for five to ten minutes in the morning. If you feel anxious post-work, you can also meditate in the evening after coming home. It will help eliminate work anxiety.
A Warm Shower
Nothing beats the old warm shower, not a body massage, no aromatherapy, nothing. When you’re in the shower, all alone with your thoughts, you get to think about things that matter. It is another thing that helps straighten out your anxieties in life.
Not to mention, it relieves muscle tension and increases your energy levels. If you’re someone who doesn’t like taking a shower in the morning, you need to change that habit right away. Wake up, go for a morning walk, come home, and go straight into the shower.
Don’t Miss Breakfast
One of the worst things you can do is miss your breakfast. Sadly, many people do that. If you ask them, they’ll come up with several excuses. Some will say they run late if they stay for breakfast while others will probably say that they don’t feel like eating in the morning.
Well, not having breakfast eventually damages your brain and it’s proven by research. It is another cause of morning lethargy and low workplace performance. Hence, you must not skip your breakfast. If you’re running late, pack it up and have a bite on your way to the office.
Weekday wake-ups are difficult for everyone, so please know that you’re not alone. Just be sure that it doesn’t take a toll on your work and follow the aforementioned tips. I’m sure they will help!
