Alberta

Alberta is a great province that could amaze anyone, but many aren’t sure what to do once they arrive! So instead of staying in one place, consider making a trip to a couple of these locations and make the most out of your visit!

Go to the Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede is internationally known as one of the largest and most popular stampedes in the world.

The Stampede is lively and fun for everyone and offers everything from live concerts to watching people try to stay on bucking broncos to livestock judging and prizes.  There’s a lot of fun to be had here and a lot of history in this gathering that any family should make the most out of.

Walk on a Glacier in Jasper

Jasper is an incredible park with everything from beautiful wildlife to stunning glaciers and even a cute small town where you can feel like you’re vanishing into a quaint paradise.

Every inch of this park is beautiful and well maintained, allowing you to view wildlife as it belongs, in nature, and still feel safe and comfortable.  Visitors can even pay to walk out onto a glacier, or touch it with their hands, to take in how large these ice formations are.

Stroll Through the Royal Alberta Museum

The Royal Alberta Museum is one of the most incredible museums in Canada.  With over two million items in their collections, you can learn about the mammoths that used to live here or get to know about the first nations people who have lived on this land for thousands of years.

This museum works hard to show an honest look at the area’s history and can be fantastic for families with kids curious about the world around us.

Enjoy Nature in Banff

Banff is Canada’s oldest national park and is a gorgeous and scenic piece of land that seems to stretch on forever.  Although there’s a lot to see and do here, if you’re traveling with your family, this can be an awesome place to allow kids to get to know nature and learn how to respect wildlife and the national parks that we love.

You can explore nature by hiking, biking, camping, or dozens of other activities that all offer you the chance to have fun and cut loose.  You’ll fall in love and want to look at Banff homes for sale immediately!

Make it a Road Trip!

If several of these items sound like fun to you: you’re not alone!  Alberta is one of the best places to go on a road trip, and hit as many fun locations as you can at once!  This could mean taking a day in Calgary, then heading down to Banff for a couple of days and taking the straight shot up to Jasper from there, only to end up in Alberta at the Royal Alberta Museum!

There’s a lot to see and do in this great province, and as long as you’re open to the experience, you’ll never run out of excitement for the whole family.
